German groups deliver significant donation to Sancti Spíritus hospital
The Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital in Sancti Spíritus received a valuable donation last Tuesday from the solidarity organization Cuba Sí, a working group of the Left Party of Germany. This gesture strengthens medical care and reaffirms the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
According to Belkis Castillo Navia, International Relations, Donations, and Projects Specialist at the General Directorate of Health, the aid includes a state-of-the-art mammography unit, an X-ray machine, surgical instruments, and other medical supplies that are highly useful for hospital care.
“Once again demonstrating the importance of international cooperation, we received a donation with a significant social impact for our region at the Camilo Cienfuegos General Hospital. They brought a mammography unit, which has had a major social impact, as our hospital lacked one. They also donated an X-ray machine, beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, walkers, and all of this was provided by this organization.”
Castillo Navia praised the position taken by the Cuban Association of Animal Production (ACPA) in Sancti Spíritus, which donated part of its allocation to benefit the province’s largest healthcare center.
“We also wanted to thank our colleagues at ACPA, our colleagues in agriculture here in the province, because it was a shared container with them, but we also received resources that they donated to the hospital. These are resources primarily for the public health system, and they offered them to the hospital as well, which is also worth highlighting. Non-clinical equipment, that is, non-clinical instruments, for example, desks, tables, tools that are also useful for the maintenance of our hospital, which we also lacked. Ladders, other resources that benefited the Camilo Cienfuegos General Hospital.”
He also informed the public that all the resources received are new, not secondhand, and that there are no expired medical supplies or materials, “which is very important.”
The contribution from the Cuba Sí Solidarity Organization, a working group of the Left Party of Germany, strengthens the diagnostic and therapeutic capacity of the Camilo Cienfuegos Hospital in Sancti Spíritus, directly benefiting the population.
