How is the application of labor measures in response to the energy deficit being handled in Sancti Spíritus?
The Labor and Social Security Directorate in the province of Sancti Spíritus has conducted a preliminary analysis of the implementation of labor measures adopted to address the current complex energy situation. According to Yaiselin Quesada López, the deputy director of the Labor Directorate in the province, the implementation of these measures has the dual purpose of protecting workers’ income and job security in the face of potential disruptions to their usual workplaces, and ensuring the continuity of essential services and vital productive activities for the province.
She specified that, although the figures are not yet significant, to date a total of 1,808 workers have been enrolled in the various work arrangements. Of these, 486 are working remotely and 23 are teleworking. She also explained that more than 400 workers requested vacation time following the announcement. There are 307 workers experiencing work interruptions and only 11 changing their job roles.
The director added that it is essential for managers and administrators to adjust their work schedules, as well as the need to strengthen energy-saving measures and the use of natural light. Finally, she guaranteed that the regional government is politically committed to ensuring that no worker is left unprotected during this process.
