Sun and Beach in Trinidad and Sancti Spíritus
Trinidad, thanks to its geographical location, is one of Cuba’s most complete destinations, boasting one of the most beautiful beaches on the country’s southern coast . On the Ancón Peninsula, you’ll find Marina Marlín with 19 dive sites, and nearby are the Cayos Blancos and Cayos Iguanas, which you can explore with Seafari . It’s an open invitation to enjoy a peaceful swim and witness a breathtaking sunset.
The beaches of Trinidad, despite being in the south and not as extensive as others in Cuba, boast all the characteristics that make the beaches of the Caribbean unique.
Ancon Beach
One of the best beaches in southern Cuba. Located on the Ancón Peninsula, 12 km from Trinidad, this beach is a must-see for anyone wanting to travel around Cuba.
You can get there from Trinidad by taking one of the taxis that depart daily for Ancón Beach, or by taking the tourist bus that leaves the city at various times for 125 CUC, which includes a guaranteed return trip. You also have the option of renting a bike or staying at the Hotel Ancón, the closest hotel to the beach.
The crystal-clear, always warm waters pique the curiosity of swimmers. Diving and snorkeling are among the area’s biggest attractions. If you love water sports, the Hotel Ancón is home to one of Cuba’s premier diving centers. You can enjoy the impressive archaeological remains found in this area, as well as the wide variety of coral reefs. The seabed is teeming with underwater features, sponges, black coral, tunnels, and the remains of galleons and ships from the colonial era, when privateers and pirates attempted to attack the town.
La Boca Beach
It may not be one of the most frequented beaches by travelers, but that’s precisely where its greatest appeal lies. Located at the mouth of a river where it meets the Caribbean Sea, the shore is made up of small stones. However, these don’t prevent you from swimming in its calm waters.
It’s located about 8 km from Trinidad, so you can reach the beach by taxi from the village or rent a bicycle. It’s important to know that the tourist bus to Ancón Beach passes through La Boca. In the small village, there are houses available for rent to both locals and tourists.
It is named for the shape of the river mouths, which, from an aerial view, resemble a mouth. Others associate its name with the numerous inlets the sea creates along its banks; inlets that are used by bathers for a swim.
The views of the Escambray Mountains from this vantage point are spectacular. Its warm, clear waters invite all visitors to enjoy a refreshing swim. So, if you’d like to meet and mingle with Cubans from the central part of the country while enjoying their vacation, this is the perfect beach.
La Batea Beach
This place also has its own magical touch. It’s a cove with crystal-clear waters and fine sand, although the shore is rocky. A peaceful spot, not overrun with tourists, but equipped to make visitors feel comfortable.
It offers umbrellas to provide shade from the intense sun, as well as small establishments where you can eat or drink while enjoying the sea air or taking a dip. Located just a few kilometers from the city of Trinidad, it’s a beach many prefer, especially for its tranquility and peace. It’s like a natural swimming pool, perfect for swimming among coral and fish of various colors and species. An ideal moment to connect with nature.
