Sancti Spíritus has no reported cases of Oropouche fever
Sancti Spiritus has not registered any cases of Oropouche fever to date, a positive development in the province’s epidemiological situation that allows efforts to be focused on controlling other arboviruses such as dengue and chikungunya.
According to Yurien Negrín Calvo, deputy director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology, the absence of these cases was confirmed in all eight municipalities at the close of week 43, although surveillance and control measures against other viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and other vectors remain active.
