Sancti Spíritus health institutions ready to face arbovirus
The province’s main health institutions remain on high alert and fully operational to address the increase in arboviral cases, primarily dengue and chikungunya, with a focus on early clinical surveillance and the immediate activation of care protocols.
According to Carlos Luis Santos, director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology, monitoring has been intensified in high-risk areas, and both diagnostic capacity and the training of medical and nursing staff have been strengthened to identify and treat cases associated with these diseases transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito in a timely manner.
