Sancti Spíritus activates measures to protect solar parks for possible storm
In light of the potential path of Hurricane Melisa and its impact on central Cuba, Sancti Spíritus activated specific measures this weekend to protect the province’s two photovoltaic generation facilities and thus prevent damage to a key technology for the nation’s energy development.
According to Roberto Hernández Rojas, general director of Empresa Eléctrica Sancti Spíritus, the measures were aimed at reviewing the solar parks’ structure and implementing safety protocols for extreme weather events, including inspections of anchoring systems.
According to Hernández Rojas, protecting the solar parks not only preserves a strategic investment but also reaffirms the province’s commitment to energy sustainability and the security of basic services in the face of high-intensity natural phenomena.
