Sancti Spiritus Fishing Company maintains national leadership

The Sancti Spiritus Fishing Company maintains its national leadership in aquaculture capture by incorporating new basic business units that strengthen the processing and delivery of its products despite the environmental and logistical challenges it faces.

This was stated by Yoandri Rodríguez Panizo, Production Director of the Sancti Spiritus Fishing Company, who explained that until last month they had four basic business units and have incorporated two more.

Among the species farmed in the reservoirs are silver and spotted tench, the red carp known as labeo, tilapia, and claria.

Despite difficulties with fuel, energy, and adverse weather conditions, the Sancti Spiritus Fishing Company staff managed to recover from the delays and aims to meet the annual catch plan, which this year amounts to 3,100 tons, surpassing the previous year’s, said Rodríguez Panizo.
