Sancti Spíritus University Fosters Digital Creation through Artificial Intelligence

In order to continue doing science from education, members of the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Technical and Economic Sciences of the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí are working on the creation of an area of digital manufacturing aimed at solving problems with the application of technology and artificial intelligence.

The fundamental idea is to achieve the solution of problems using the technological base is to do normally we are used to solve problems many times with the creativity of the Cuban but we want it to be creativity but always using technology that allow us to solve your problem, said Luis Quintero Dominguez, head of the Department of Informatics in the house of high studies.

“We are focused on agriculture, on how to constantly monitor environmental variables in real time: temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, that can be monitored in real time around the clock and that the farmer can access this information remotely to make decisions at any time”.

The Doctor in Technical Sciences also explained that although we are now only focused on monitoring, we must then move on to the phase of processing this information through artificial intelligence to generate useful knowledge that can support the farmer’s decision making.
